CH (COL-Ret) Brian W. Chepey, Associate Endorser

Brian is the Associate Endorser for the Chaplaincy of Full Gospel Churches, Inc. He retired as an U.S. Army Chaplain, Colonel (COL), in December of 2022.  He was born in Anchorage, Alaska but moved to Texas as soon as he could; however, the Last Frontier still has a place in his heart!  He surrendered to “full time” Christian Service while serving as a Military Policeman in Nuremberg, Germany from 1982 -1984.  Brian graduated from the Army’s Chaplain Officer Basic Course at Ft Monmouth, New Jersey in 1991.

During his college and seminary years and before he entered active duty as a chaplain in 1999 he served as a Youth Pastor, Co-Pastor, Church Planter, Missionary in the Ukraine, taught in Private Christian Schools, and served with the National Guard as the Chaplain for the 3rd-149th Aviation Battalion in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Brian’s enlisted assignment as a Military Policeman was with the 595th Military Police Company, 1st Armored Division, Zirndorf, Germany.  His assignments as a an active duty chaplain include: the 299th Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division (M), Fort Hood, Texas; 2nd Battalion 1st Aviation Regiment, 4th Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division (M), Katterbach, Germany; 2nd Recruiting Brigade, United States Army Recruiting Command, Atlanta Georgia; 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; 1st Cavalry Division as the Deputy Division Chaplain; the Mission Command Training Program Deputy Chaplain, Fort Leavenworth Kansas; and the 2nd Infantry Division Chaplain, Camp Red Cloud, Korea; and the 8th Theater Sustainment Command Chaplain, Fort Shafter, Hawaii.  In his last assignments Brian served as the Garrison Chaplain for Fort Hood, Texas and White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.

Brian’s deployments include: Kosovo (2002), Iraq (2004 and 2008), and Afghanistan (2011).

He is a graduate of the Chaplain Career Course and the Command and General Staff College.  He completed the Army War College Fellowship program in June of 2017 serving as a National Security Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, MA.  His civilian education includes a Bachelor degree in Biblical Studies from the Criswell Bible College and a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (3), Meritorious Service Medal (4), Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal (1), Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (1), Army Good Conduct Medal (1), Army Superior Unit Award (2), Iraq Campaign Medal with four Campaign Stars, National Defense Service Medal (2), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon,  Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 3), and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal (2).

Brian has been married to his wife Dana for 27 years.  They have three children; Gary, Jennifer and Caleb.
