About Jesus

What Is The Truth Of Who Jesus Is?

Jesus Is Lord!

  • Jesus is the second Person of the Trinity:  God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah prophesied in the Hebrew Scriptures.
  • The Messiah is the promised one who conquered sin and death.
  • He came to atone for the sins of the world that whoever believes in Him shall inherit eternal life.
  • During His earthly ministry, He mentored His disciples, preached to the multitudes, forgave sins, and healed many, even raising people from the dead.
  • He was crucified, buried, and rose from the dead three days later and was seen alive by more than 500 witnesses.

What Does a Christian Believe?

Apostles’ Creed:

I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, a holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

A Prayer For Salvation

Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that you are the way, the truth, and the life.  I confess that I am a sinner — I have done what I thought was right in my own eyes.  Please forgive me for all my sins.  I confess You as my Lord and Savior.  Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit.  Help me to follow You and serve You all my days.

Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen.

What Is Next?

If you just prayed, you have just begun a new life. You probably have some questions on what is next…

Next Steps

Put most succinctly, love Him with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your strength, and treat and care for those you work and live around you the same way that you want them to treat you. Mark 12:30-31 (Short for the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 12, verses 30 and 31).

As for more specific tasks, you need to:

  • Become a regular member of a good church and join a Bible study or a home fellowship.
  • Ask God to help you find the place He wants for you. He will help you.
  • Make friends with other Christians and spend time together. Christians need one another to grow in their faith and you are no exception.
  • Just like anyone else, to know God, you are going to have to spend some time with Him. Read God’s Word, the Bible. Start with the “Good News” of Jesus in one of the Gospels, such as the Gospel of Mark. Spend time talking with Him, this is called “prayer.” He will answer you through recalled thoughts, the quiet voice of His Spirit within you, and Bible scriptures that he makes come “alive to you.”
  • Tell others what Jesus has done for you. This is called sharing your faith.
  • Read about water Baptism and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Be Baptized in water by another Christian believer

Water baptism is the public act of saying you belong to Jesus and turning from your “old ways” to “His Way”.

You can read about water baptism in: Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4, and Acts 8:36-38.

Ask Jesus to Baptize you in the Holy Spirit

When you became a Christian, you received His Spirit within you. The “baptism of the Holy Spirit” is an overflowing, an enablement, and an empowerment for God’s service.
