Chaplain Melinda Clarisse Ryans is a native of Williston and Aiken, SC. She received an academic scholarship to attend USC-Aiken, where she also received two athletic scholarships. Due to an accident in her last year, Melinda was unable to complete her degree at USC-Aiken. She later completed her education at Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC where she received several scholarships as she completed a Bachelors in Business Management, graduating Magna Cum Laude while working full time at a Financial Institution.
While pursuing her Masters in Finance, Melinda had a burden on her heart for soldiers. Having been led by the Spirit and after much prayer, in August, 2010, Melinda was called to military ministry and was led to join CFGC in February 2011. On April 20, 2011, she was commissioned as a 2LT, in the Chaplain Candidate Program of the US Army and was stationed at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC while pursuing a MDIV at Columbia International University. She served six honorable years in this capacity. This success was contributed through the support and great mentorship provided by CFGC and the local church that Melinda attended.
Melinda worshipped and served at New Horizon Outreach Ministries, North Augusta, SC, under the dynamic leadership of Pastors who serves under the leadership of CHOP in Killeen, TX. In October 2017, the Lord called Melinda to relocate to Texas through the leadership and divine instruction given to Dr. Kitchen to serve as the Business Manager and Chaplain Candidate Coordinator of CFGC. Melinda brings ten years of experience in Finance and humbly accepted the call and now resides in Texas as a servant leader.
